9K a year Scotland Health is seeking qualified candidates for the ER Registrar position.
The ER Registrar will enjoy interacting with patients and checking them in at our main Emergency Center.
The ER Registrar will accurately perform administrative duties required for patient registration, including entering demographic and insurance information and collecting copays.
As a liaison to patients, the community and healthcare professional in this position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to ensure delivery of the highest quality customer service.
The ER Registrar work environment is high-volume, fast-paced and requires the ability to greet and check patients in upon arrival and provide a high standard of customer service to patients and families presenting to the Emergency Center.
Some duties of the ER Registrar include:
Explaining forms to patients and obtaining signatures for consent for treatment/ financial responsibility, Privacy Notice, and any other related forms.
Entering all payments received into the system, providing the patient with receipts, completing all processes for posting payments, balancing cash drawer and credit card terminal at the end of shift and delivering to the Cashier's drop box by at end of the shift.
Ensuring each patient is identified correctly in the system according to procedure by using at least 2 identifiers, such as Name and DOB and reviewing the EPIC photo.
Qualifications include high school graduate or equivalent; previous experience in a medical office setting preferred; excellent computer, communication, and customer service skills.
