Production Specialist - Sow, MURPHY-BROWN LLC, Laurinburg, NC.
Manage company and supporting contract sow farms for efficient production of marketable hogs at lowest cost.
Monitor and maintain production goals.
Ensure that employees follow company policies, including EMS, AWMS and BMS.
Train Farm Managers in understanding, developing and tracking budgets.
Counsel company/contract Farm Managers in proper production techniques.
Coach and train farms in service area.
Understand certification requirements and ensure farms and staff meet required standard for assessment.
Enforce land and nutrient management guidelines and report noncompliance to management immediately.
Plan routine daily/weekly activities to prioritize and fulfill essential functions.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelors degree/equiv.
in animal science, agriculture, agronomy, agricultural technology or related field; at least 6 months training in hog production management training; travel 500-600 miles per week within 175-mile radius.
